Father Vincent Racanelli grew up in Jefferson, WI, with his earliest memories attending St. Lawrence on the hill just east of town. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 2010 and attended UW-Madison to study history and Spanish, with the intention of teaching history; God, however, had a better plan.
Fr. Vince was first open to a priestly calling his freshman year as a Badger, drawn by the beauty of the sacraments of the Eucharist and confession. After finishing his four years of study in history and Spanish in May of 2014, he entered Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, MI the following fall semester.
After six years of formation, Fr. Vince received priestly ordination in the whirlwind summer of 2020 and was assigned to the parishes of St. John the Baptist in Waunakee and St. Mary of the Lake in Westport. He considers his first few years of priesthood a tremendous gift and looks forward to getting to know the good people of Janesville, and God willing, helping them come to know and love Jesus Christ in an ever-deeper way.
